HOMEMADE TURKEY CHILI
This Turkey Chili is one of my favorite things to eat during the Wintertime. It’s super easy to make + will get you through those cold rainy days! I don’t have an actual recipe — this is just what I like to use and what works for me so feel free to adjust ingredients to your preference.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
1lb ground turkey
1-2 tomatoes (diced)
1-2 onions (diced)
1-2 bell peppers (diced)
2-3 carrots (diced)
1 yellow chili (diced)
3-4 garlic cloves (minced)
olive oil
salt + pepper
oregano powder
chili powder
garlic powder
cumin powder
tomato sauce
THE PROCESS:
Using a dutch oven or large pot add olive oil, minced garlic, and ground turkey. Once the turkey is halfway cooked add seasoning. Drain excess liquid if needed. (cook time 4-5mins)
Once the turkey is cooked add in all veggies + tomato sauce. Add broth or water if you need more liquid. + add more seasoning as you go if needed. (make sure you are tasting every 15 mins or so)
Bring to boil uncovered then cover and simmer for 30mins - 1hr or until veggies are soft.
FINISH IT OFF WITH:
Sliced avocado
Sour cream
Shredded cheese
Diced onions
Garlic bread or crackers
